Award Level:

  • Maximum amount of the award is $500 to defray the cost of registration and/or travel to national or international conferences to present vascular-related research.

Application Review Timeline:

  • Applications are accepted anytime and are reviewed on a rolling basis.


Award Requirements:

  • Funds will not be awarded to the applicant personally but instead will be provided to the Financial Administrator you designate in the application form.
  • Funds must be used within 12 months of award date.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Student, staff, postdoctoral researcher, or faculty at UNMC, UNO, UNL, or UNK. 
  • Awardee must present a poster or an oral presentation at the conference.
  • Applicants may submit one application per year.
  • Applications are accepted on a rolling basis until annual funds dedicated to this award category are depleted.
  • Applications need to be submitted a minimum of 1 month prior to the proposed travel.
  • Awardees must complete a brief summary of their travel experience within one week of the event (Awardees will receive email notifiation from Piestar to complete this form).
  • CHVR member in good standing (as defined on the CHVR website and summarized below):
    • Actively participates in at least one focus group. 
    • Attend the center's meetings, seminars, review committees, retreats and related activities as appropriate. It is expected that members will attend a minimum of five events per year. 
    • List the center as an affiliation on all publications (manuscripts, reviews, book chapters), in oral/poster presentations, grant submissions and media announcements.
    • Agree to maintain an updated CHVR membership profile and complete assigned surveys regarding funding and publications within Piestar.

Selection Process:

  • Applications will be reviewed by a committee.
  • Preference will be for investigators who meet eligibility criteria who are active members of at least one CHVR focus group.
